The story of the hour

In "the story of the hour" Mrs. Mallard extensively expressed a sense of relief after finding out that her husband had died this isn't a normal reaction from a sick wife. When the news was brought to her attention it was told to her in "veiled hints" which had me believe that other people such as her sister Josephine, had thought that she would be devastated with the news. Instead we got the complete opposite reaction and she expressed seeing things in a "new light". This had me believe that she didn't have a pleasant relationship with him. When her husband had walked in and she saw him alive, then mrs. mallard suddenly got a heart attack, but this was after she had drunken an elixir that's suppose to "heal" her. She had died from the sight of her husband.
